Notes Prior:
The plan for this prototype was to focus on some of the key mechanics that will benefit for later development. This includes ways to flip the vehicle back up after it has fell on its side or upside down. I also worked heavily on the vehicles speed and physics (mass, friction, wheel suspensions). I got started on making terrain taking Bennett Foddy’s advice on using a 64mx256m terrain field.
I struggled really hard on trying to fix the hand to steering wheel issue, which was the ability to lock onto the steering wheel where ever you click LMB. I have tried ray-casting and UI to world, but still cannot crack the code. Hopefully this will be something I will have to either move past from or figure out for the next prototype.
During the final playtest I got some feedback that could further shape the game. Many things were discussed during this playtest session especially with adding a small terrain (bonus) to the practice level.
