The Plan
Compared to the interact-able prototype, this prototype had many changes. First of all, I had decided to remove the gear shifting mechanic on the van. I did this because based on the feedback I got from the last prototype, it felt unnecessary. Most importantly it was because there was only the option to drive and reverse without the option to switch to first gear or second gear.

More Add-ons and Changes:
- Completely removed the use of the keyboard and limit all the controls to the mouse direction and buttons.
- Player will steer and drive by holding down the left mouse button while moving their mouse left and right.
- All four wheels of the car had its own wheel colliders: adjusted the values for each wheel.
- Added a bit of loose control when driving and the van can slightly drift on wide turns.
- Most important add: the cursor is replaced by the player(bird) hand which was animated and will become locked to a position on the steering wheel when driving.
Playtest at NYU [10/31/2024]

During this play test I received a lot of useful feedback which I will discuss below. On October 31, 2024, I had my game set up and playtested for “Playtest Thursdays” at the NYU Game Center building in Brooklyn.
Feedback
Mechanical Feedback
- Unrealistic driving: This is mostly because the vehicle cannot drive back in its current state
- Add the ability to reverse, look back while having one hand rotating the steering wheel
- Loosen up the steering wheel rotational handling
